MasterCard SecureCode ™ is a free secure online shopping service for Maestro and MasterCard cards. When you confirm your purchase, you confirm your identity with the Bank using a one-time password – the one arriving at your mobile device in the form of a text message.

One Time Password (OTP) is exclusively performed between you and the Bank and the internet merchant has no access to the information that is exchanged. That way, you can only use a card from an online merchant that supports payment using the MasterCard SecureCode ™ service. MasterCard SecureCode ™ is only offered to online merchants participating in MasterCard SecureCode ™.

The purchase procedure is as follows:

  • Select the desired goods and / or services and go to your payment page. By entering the required information (including your Maestro or MasterCard card number), an online store will automatically connect with the Bank to verify your identity.
  • Identity verification is implemented through a one-time password that will send you SMS messages to your mobile device. A password must be entered in the appropriate verification field. Each password lasts 60 seconds, and then you need to create a new one by clicking the “Generate SMS Password” option.
  • When making a payment, you can generate 4 one-time passwords, and after 4 failed authentication attempts, the 3DS system will lock your internet payment card. In this case, please contact the nearest branch office for unlocking. The Bank checks the password entered correctly and if it is correct, it will notify you of a successful payment.
