Rebranding of the Morrisons Daily store for the Ellon store

A local branch of RS McColl’s in Ellon is set to be renamed this week as it joins a growing list of company outlets to undergo the change.
The store, which is located on Provost Davidson Drive, will close on Wednesday, April 20 and reopen Friday, April 29 at 7 a.m.
The changes will allow the store to offer customers a range of fresh food and groceries, new ranges and Morrisons branded items.
Rolling out Morrisons Daily stores is a “key part” of the company’s strategic focus on food-driven convenience, driving incremental sales and improving sales mix across the store.
After having Morrisons’ Safeway brand on approximately 400 product lines in more than 1,300 stores since January 2018, McColl’s decided to take the wholesale deal further by having McColl’s convenience stores rebranded as Morrisons Daily.
The first rebrand stores were operating in early 2021 and they remain on track to complete 450 Morrisons Daily store conversions by the end of fiscal 2022.
Before recently stepping down as CEO, Jonathan Miller said: “Morrisons Daily stores are fundamentally reshaping our business into a more profitable and sustainable model over the medium term, while providing customers with access to a wider range of products, greater value and a supply of supermarket-quality fresh produce and groceries.”
